SQL Server DBA

Roles and Responsibilities
• Providing high quality support for the live systems and selected test / dev environments • Resolving incidents • Determining the root cause of problems and identifying solutions • Providing out of hours cover as agreed with the Team Leader • Performing the daily checks as part of a predefined rota • Providing incident desk cover as part of a predefined rota. • Supporting the databases projects related activities • Performance monitoring and capacity planning • Database installation and configuration • Advanced configurations (Logshipping, etc) • Database hardening – Security , clustering & Stand by • Database Backup • Patch upgrade • Security compliance • Audit trail monitoring • Co-ordination with interfacing team • Project requirement participation • Participating in Knowledge Transfer activities


Skills and Job Requirements
a. Good hands on database administration experience on SQL server 7, 2000 and 2005. b. 24x7 Database support c. Good Communication skills SQL sever 2005 administration SQL server 2000 administration 24 x 7 Production Support Logshipping
